During the "Early Music Revival" of the 1970's and 80's I became interested in the research methods of such eminent musicologists as Professor David Wulstan and Peter le Huray.
I began researching through original manuscripts adopting the editing conventions and typesetting them electronically to produce practical editions for the various ensembles that I sang in and conducted. I have prepared editions for some of the leading British and Continental ensembles and Cathedral choirs. My edition of Surrexit Christus hodie was recently performed in a BBC Radio 3 broadcast from the City of London Festival by the BBC Singers conducted by Dr David Hill.
I contribute to the Choral Public Domain Library (CPDL) however, latterly I have subscribed to the Digital Images of Medieval Music site (DIAMM) as a source of manuscripts. I plan to publish the entire output on this site. There are a number of sample pieces from each catagory that can be downloaded as pdf's.
Please contact me at davidcynanjones@yahoo.co.uk for a master copy of the title in order to make the required number of scores for your needs. There is no charge for this service, the only thing I ask is recognition as the editor in programme notes and some feedback about the performance. |
